The Story Told…
As we continue to navigate through this Covid-19 pandemic, I keep thinking about the stories we will tell our grandchildren of the time when people cleared the shelves of toilet paper and when we weren’t allowed to gather in groups greater than 25. Soon, this will be left in our rear view and we will rebuild what may have crumbled, but prayerfully the following will also be true.
I pray we (myself included) never takes these things for granted:
A packed concert with dancing fans!
The light show at a concert because those lights were put up by a small business
Our local coffee shop where we meet with friends and clients
Getting ready every morning in a rush to get out the door to bring our children to a school where they are loved and nurtured by teachers, faculty and staff who care about them
The grocery aisle shelves and those who keep them stocked
The full restaurant with a wait time because it means that there are waitresses, waiters, bartenders and cooks with a job
A hug with a friend
Travel agencies who employ many to help us plan our perfect getaway
Being ‘busy’
Sharing the pews with others in your congregation at church so you can worship as one body of Christ
I pray we never take anything for granted again. As the Cinderella song says, “Don't know what you got till it's gone…” Isn’t’ that the truth!
Enjoy today! Enjoy watching your kids engrossed in their virtual learning classes. Enjoy this extra time with your spouse. Enjoy video conferencing with your friends over a glass of seltzer or wine or doing a virtual workout. I do hope that in this time of rest and empty schedules, we enjoy the time we do have. While we may be longing for our hustle and bustle to start so we can bring back our own ‘normal’, rest in today knowing that will be back soon.
In Health~
