What Does Opening Your Detox Pathways Look Like?

I know I blogged about detoxing, but ensuring that your detox pathways are open is imperative to detoxing and can help your body to effectively eliminate toxins and promote overall well-being. Here are some ways to support your body's natural detoxification processes:

1. Stay hydrated: Drinking plenty of water helps to flush out toxins and ensures that your kidneys are able to eliminate waste efficiently. We should be aiming for half of your body weight in ounces each day.

2. Eat a healthy diet: Consuming a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, seeds, and lean proteins provides essential nutrients that support detoxification pathways.

3. Limit exposure to toxins: Minimize exposure to environmental toxins by choosing organic produce, using non endocrine disrupting cleaning products, and avoiding processed foods. I LOVE my Hugh and Grace products for making simple swaps, especially our skin care! Check it out here! (Use code hello10 for $10 off your first purchase.)

4. Exercise regularly: Physical activity can help to stimulate circulation and lymphatic drainage, which aids in the removal of toxins from the body through sweat. Which leads to another thing you can do to open your pathways; sauna! I talked about utilizing a sauna in my detoxing blog post, but it is also great for opening your pathways.

5. Get plenty of sleep: Adequate rest is important for overall health and allows your body to repair and regenerate cells, supporting detoxification processes. I find that my Oura Ring has been incredibly helpful in me understanding my sleep patterns and the night supplement I take with magnesium has helped TREMENDOUSLY with my sleep due to the magnesium in it.

6. Support liver function: The liver is a key organ in detoxification. Eating foods like broccoli, garlic, and turmeric, as well as taking liver-supporting supplements such as milk thistle, can help support liver health. In addition, I recommend sleeping with a castor oil pack on the area of your liver a few times a week. The brand I use is Queen of Thrones. It’s organic and in an amber bottle which is incredibly important for purity.

7. Consider supplements: Some supplements, such as glutathione, N-acetylcysteine (NAC), and vitamin C, support the body's natural detoxification processes. I go for glutathione infusions every 6 or so weeks AND I have it daily in my hydrate detox.

It's always a good idea to consult with a healthcare provider or a registered dietitian before making any significant changes to your diet or lifestyle to ensure that they are appropriate for your individual needs. I always recommend working with a holistic practitioner to have deep dive testing done and then come up with a game plan.
