7 Common Foods with Glyphosate

  1. Wheat Breads and Pastas: Non-organic what is sprayed constantly with glyphosate for faster harvesting. Faster equals more crops and more crops equals more money. Just the facts. What is a staple for pasta, baked goods, bread, etc…Glyphosate on the wheat is a huge issue. Even the chickpea pastas can be questionable…when in doubt, buy organic!

  2. Berries: Yes, they are so good for you and are anti-inflammatory, but it’s important to know that strawberry and blueberry crops are sprayed with glyphosate to eliminate weeds. YUCK! Again, when in doubt, buy organic!

  3. Corn and Soy: GMO corn and soy are engineered to survive glyphosate. Even non-GMO crops are sprayed before harvesting. Lord help us. Maltodextrin (corn) and lecithin (soy) is hiding in so so many snacks including chips, bars, ice cream, cookies, snack packs, etc… look we can’t be perfect, but we can make more educated decisions. I personally avoid anything with soy or corn that is not certified non-GMO. However, because it’s so hard to stay away from it, we do use this spray to help our bodies detox.

  4. Gluten-free foods: Many of these foods are chemical poop storms and it’s not just because the crops are sprayed with glyphosate. The list includes corn, chickpea flour, oats, and more… Again, go organic.

  5. Oats: I will stay it again. Go organic (and gluten free if it’s organic). Oats too are sprayed to speed up the drying of the crop before the harvest. Testing has confirmed that nearly ALL non-organic oats (thing oatmeal, granola, granola bars, etc….) have glyphosate. This includes yes…those Cheerios and Nature Valley granola bars which are some of the worst offenders.

  6. Hummus: Say it ain’t so!! It’s so. Chickpea crops are sprayed too (shocking I know) or maybe not shocking at this point. Craziness yes, so…yup…opt for organic.

  7. Almonds and nut butters: An estimated 35,000,000 pounds of pesticides per year are used on almonds. Go for organic.

So what’s the big deal?

  • Glyphosate disrupts the gut microbiome

  • Triggers oxidative stress

  • Increases the risk of some cancers

  • Impacts the immune system negatively

  • Leads to increased anxiety

  • Been linked to gluten-intolerance

Bottom line is it is toxic and we just need to be aware and take steps to try our best to avoid and/or detox from it.
